Today we released the third volume of our Transfigured Orchestra series for Soundbox - 'Cinema Brass'!
Where Transfigured Orchestra Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 used brass as a supporting colour within a wider orchestral palette, Volume 3 puts it firmly centre stage. Flugelhorn, solo French horn, trumpets and trombones feature across 25 carefully crafted presets, spanning everything from rich, traditional orchestral brass sounds to abstract ambient textures and cinematic sound design.
And we couldn't resist adding something unique. We ran the brass recordings through digital hardware modelling vintage samplers and classic effect processors. The result is a set of lo-fi brass patches with a gritty, characterful edge, full of digital artefacts and vintage charm that open up some really fun creative possibilities.
