Completing our Pure guitar series for Soundbox, following Pure Nylon and Pure Steel String, Pure 12-String was captured during the same recording session as our acclaimed Panorama Acoustic library for Kontakt – now reimagined for an MPE-ready Soundbox workflow.

Why 12-String Acoustic Guitar?

We love the shimmering, glassy sound of a 12-string guitar – with its strings arranged in pairs, some tuned a full octave apart, it can almost sound like a harpsichord. It's a peculiar, chiming texture that feels both organic and strikingly cinematic, perfect for building lush, otherworldly soundscapes.

Playable Pluckscapes

Pure 12-String focuses on playable, non-synced soundscapes – or ‘pluckscapes’ as we like to call them. Delivered in a range of variants that you can mix, match and layer, they invite you to simply hold down a few notes and let the samples cascade and evolve naturally beneath your fingers.

Deep-Sampled Articulations

Pure 12-String is built around four core articulations:

Pluckscapes - Plucked – delicate, chiming plucked textures, in sparse or dense improvisation.
Pluckscapes - Picked – crisper, more defined picked textures, also available in sparse or dense variants.
Pluckscapes - 5th & 8va – evolving improvisations where for each note, a 5th and an octave is added at random intervals, for richer, more intricate soundscapes.
Tremolo – dramatic, shimmering tremolo textures to round out the palette.

Designed For Soundbox

Pure 12-String is designed for Audiomodern Soundbox (v1.2+) – a free customisable MPE sampler which also offers full multi-touch support on iPad. It works on Mac, Windows and iOS.

By using any of our packs with Soundbox, all features are unlocked with the exception of the Sample and Mapping editor (which allows importing and editing of your own sounds). If you’d like to unlock this editor, you’ll need to purchase at least one original Soundbox expansion from Audiomodern’s website. Once activated, the editor is permanently unlocked and includes free lifetime updates.
